Peanut Butter & Co.TWENTY12 director Nicola Cranmer reflects on 2010 and looks forward to more successes in 2011:
Reflecting on 2010 conjured rewarding emotions. Being the new kids on the block, new sponsors, new director, new riders we had no idea what to expect. It was a combination of well laid plans, a complete focus on team goals, a moderate schedule allowing rest and recovery for the athletes, a keen talented roster of experienced and development riders and last but certainly not least, a skilled director in her inaugural directing season.
While other teams certainly had more horse power on paper, true team work and dedication to a plan emerged triumphant. Cascade Classic comes to mind as a surprising conquest. With a team of four riders, the members of Peanut Butter & Co. took on the challenge and secured GC against the best teams in the U.S of eight strong. Nature Valley GP saw a battle to the very last 2 laps of the final stage, certainly a memorable GC victory. SRAM Tour of The Gila was of epic proportions, grown men and women being blown off their bikes in the most windy conditions imaginable, from sun to the final stage podium in the snow, this race was a daily battle to achievement resulting in the teams first NRC GC.
The elite track squad saw equal success with National Titles, three World Cup medals and a Pan American Gold plus multiple wins on the national race circuit. The juniors racked up more National Titles and two Junior World Championship Bronze medals.
